"When I was in the second grade, my parents divorced and school became my safe space. It was in that year that I decided I wanted to become a teacher. As I learned more about the injustices of the world, I foundmore reasons to become an educator. Our students deserve safe spaces to grapple with the injustices they face, and they deserve educators who also grapple with the unjust schooling system in our country. I am committed to being an educator who fights for my students and their families, and I am committed to being an educator who is always learning and growing. I am excited to continue my journey as an educator and to continue fighting for my students and their families."
Without high quality educators, who are supported and respected, our students do not receive the education they deserve.
